  Pursuant to rule 11 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General is submitting the following summary statement. <\/p><\/div>\n

  The list of items of which the Security Council is seized is contained in documents S\/2006\/10 of 1 March 2006, S\/2006\/10\/Add.12 of 7 April 2006, S\/2006\/10\/Add.15 of 28 April 2006 and S\/2006\/10\/Add.16 of 5 May 2006. <\/p><\/div>\n

  The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 5443rd meeting, held on 24 May 2006 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations. <\/p><\/div>\n

  In accordance with the understanding reached in the Council’s prior consultations, the President, with the consent of the Council, extended an invitation under rule 39 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure to Ibrahim Gambari, Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs. <\/p><\/div>\n
