\t<\/span>Pursuant to rule 11 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General is submitting the following summary statement.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 4009th meeting, held on 27 May 1999 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force for the period from 15 November 1998 to 15 May 1999 (<\/span>S\/1999\/575<\/a><\/a>).<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The President drew attention to a draft resolution (S\/1999\/609) that had been prepared in the course of the Council’s prior consultations.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Security Council proceeded to vote on draft resolution S\/1999\/609, and adopted it unanimously as resolution 1234 (1999) (for the text, see S\/RES\/1234 (1999); to be issued in Official Records of the Security Council, Fifty-fourth Year, Resolutions and Decisions of the Security Council, 1999<\/u>).<\/p><\/div>\n
