Britain and Northern Ireland:  amendment to draft<\/u>   <\/p><\/div>\n

resolution A\/52\/L.53<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Delete<\/u> existing operative paragraphs 1 and 2 and replace<\/u> by the following:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Reaffirms<\/u> the right of Palestine to participate as an observer in the session and work of the General Assembly and the international conferences convened under the auspices of the General Assembly or other organs of the United Nations;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Decides<\/u> to review whether the rights currently enjoyed by Palestine are adequate to ensure its proper participation in the work of the General Assembly, its Main Committees and the international conferences convened under the auspices of the General Assembly or other organs of the United Nations;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Requests<\/u> the Secretary-General to submit a report on this issue as soon as possible, and before the end of the fifty-second session of the General Assembly.<\/p><\/div>\n
