\t<\/span>The fifty-sixth report of the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine, covering the period from 1 September 2001 to 31 August 2002, was transmitted by the Chairperson of the Commission for communication to the States Members of the United Nations in accordance with paragraph 6 of <\/span>General Assembly resolution 512 (VI)<\/a> of 26 January 1952 and paragraph 2 of <\/span>Assembly resolution 56\/52<\/a> of 10 December 2001. The text of the report of the Commission is contained in the annex to the present note.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

Fifty-sixth report of the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>In paragraph 2 of its resolution 56\/52 of 10 December 2001, the General Assembly requested the Commission to report to the Assembly as appropriate, but no later than 1 September 2002. The Commission notes its report of 31 August 2001 (<\/span>A\/56\/290, annex<\/a>) and observes that it has nothing new to report since its submission.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
