Syrian Arab Republic and Tunisia: draft resolution<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Security Council,<\/i> <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Reaffirming<\/i> its resolutions 1403(2002), 1402 (2002), 1397 (2002) and 1322 (2000),\t<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Reiterating<\/i> its grave concern at the continuation of tragic and violent events which have taken place since September 2000,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Gravely concerned <\/i>at the continuation of Israeli military attacks and the reoccupation of several Palestinian cities which started on 29 March 2002 and the escalation of those attacks in violation of resolution 1402 (2002) and 1403 (2002),<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 \t<\/span>Gravely concerned<\/i> in particular at the humanitarian crisis existing among the Palestinian civilian population and the impediment imposed on humanitarian organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA),<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Stressing the need<\/i> for ensuring the safety of civilians and for the respect of international humanitarian law,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling<\/i> the obligations of Members of the United Nations to accept and carry out the decisions of the Security Council,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Condemns<\/i> the failure of implementation of its resolutions 1402 (2002) and 1403 (2002);<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Demands <\/i>the immediate implementations of resolution 1402 (2002);<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Calls upon<\/i> Israel, the occupying Power, to fully and effectively respect the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 1967;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>4.\t<\/span>Demands<\/i> full freedom of movement and activities for the personnel and vehicles of all medical and humanitarian organizations at all times throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 1967;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>5.\t<\/span>Calls<\/i> for an international presence that could help provide better conditions on the ground;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span><\/i>6.\t<\/span>Decides<\/i> to remain seized of the matter.<\/p><\/div>\n
