\t<\/span>I have the honour to draw your attention to the statement on the demolition of Palestinian houses in Jerusalem issued on 10 July 2001 by the Presidency of the European Union on behalf of the European Union.<\/p><\/div>\n

Statement on the demolition of Palestinian houses in Jerusalem issued on 10 July 2001<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

by the Presidency of the European Union on behalf of the European Union<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The European Union is extremely concerned by the demolition of Palestinian houses by the Jerusalem municipal authority in the Shufat sector of Jerusalem on 9 July 2001.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>It calls on the Israeli authorities to put an immediate end to this sort of activity, which can only complicate further the efforts of the international community and the parties themselves to seek a solution to end the crisis through the full implementation of the recommendations set out in the <\/span>Fact Finding Committee’s report (the Mitchell report)<\/a>.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>It urges all the parties to act responsibly and to refrain from any comments or unilateral acts that might be interpreted as a provocation, but instead to work resolutely for calm.<\/p><\/div>\n
