82\/13.  Assistance to the Palestinian people The Governing Council<\/u>,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

Taking note<\/u> of the progress achieved in the implementation of its decisions 79\/18 of 26 June 1979 and 81\/13 of 23 June 1981,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Recalling<\/u> its decisions 80\/30 of 26 June 1980 and 81\/16 of 27 June 1981 regarding the use of Special Programme Resources during the third programming cycle, 1982-19 86,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>Endorses<\/u> the approach that has been followed by the Administrator in the implementation of decisions 79\/13, which is described in his report on the programme of assistance to the Palestinian people (DP\/1982\/18);<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2.\t<\/span>Authorizes<\/u> the Administrator to draw up to $4 million from the Special Programme Resources during the remainder of the third programming cycle for the implementation of projects designed to help meet the economic and social needs of the Palestinian people;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

3.\t<\/span>Appeals<\/u> to Governments and intergovernmental organizations to provide at least an additional $8 million during the third programming cycle to supplement the resources available from the Special Programme Resources for the purpose of helping to meet the economic and social needs of the Palestinian people.<\/p><\/div>\n
