Security Council is seized and on the stage reached in their consideration<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Addendum<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Pursuant to rule 11 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General is submitting the following summary statement.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The list of items of which the Security Council is seized is contained in documents S\/2001\/15 of 19 March 2001, S\/2001\/15\/Add.3 of 28 March 2001, S\/2001\/15\/Add.5 of 2 April 2001, S\/2001\/15\/Add.6 of 4 April 2001, S\/2001\/15\/Add.7 of 6 April 2001, S\/2001\/15\/Add.10 of 13 April 2001, S\/2001\/15\/Add.20 of 25 May 2001 and S\/2001\/15\/Add.26 of 6 July 2001.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>During the week ending 4 August 2001, the Security Council took action on the following items:<\/p><\/div>\n

\t\t<\/span>The situation in East Timor<\/strong> (see<\/i> S\/11593\/Add.50 and 51; S\/11935\/Add.15 and 16; S\/1999\/25\/Add.17, 22, 25, 30, 33-36, 42 and 50; S\/2000\/40\/Add.4, 11, 16, 20, 25, 29, 30, 34, 35, 37, 38, 40, 46, 47 and 48; and S\/2001\/15\/Add.4, 5, 14 and 20)<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 4351st meeting, held on 30 July 2001 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the progress report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor (S\/2001\/719). There was one suspension and one resumption of the meeting.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The President, with the consent of the Council, invited the representatives of Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, the Philippines, Portugal and the Republic of Korea, at their request, to participate in the discussion without the right to vote.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>In accordance with the understanding reached in the Council’s prior consultations, and in the absence of objection, the President, with the consent of the Council, extended invitations under rule 39 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure to Sergio Vieira de Mello, Special Representative and Transitional Administrator for East Timor, and to José Ramos-Horta, Member of the Transitional Cabinet of East Timor responsible for Foreign Affairs.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 4352nd meeting, held on 30 July 2001 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the letter dated 21 May 2001 from the Secretary-General addressed to the President of the Security Council (S\/2001\/511).<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The President drew attention to a draft resolution (S\/2001\/741) that had been submitted by Colombia and made an oral revision to operative paragraph 5 of the draft resolution in its provisional form.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Security Council proceeded to vote on draft resolution S\/2001\/741, as orally revised in its provisional form, and adopted it unanimously as resolution 1363 (2001) (for the text, see S\/RES\/1363 (2001); to be issued in Official Records of the Security Council, Fifty-sixth Year, Resolutions and Decisions of the Security Council, 2001<\/i>).<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The President drew attention to a draft resolution (S\/2001\/748) that had been prepared in the course of the Council’s prior consultations.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Security Council proceeded to vote on draft resolution S\/2001\/748, and adopted it unanimously as resolution 1365 (2001) (for the text, see S\/RES\/1365 (2001); to be issued in Official Records of the Security Council, Fifty-sixth Year, Resolutions and Decisions of the Security Council, 2001<\/i>).<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 4355th meeting, held on 2 August 2001 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the letter dated 25 July 2001 from the Permanent Representative of Colombia to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council (S\/2001\/732). There was one suspension and one resumption of the meeting.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The President, with the consent of the Council, invited the representatives of Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Egypt, Ghana, India, Japan, Mexico, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, South Africa, the Sudan, Thailand and Venezuela, at their request, to participate in the discussion without the right to vote.<\/p><\/div>\n
