Israeli nuclear armament<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The General Assembly,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling its previous resolutions on Israeli nuclear armament,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling its relevant resolutions on the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East region,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling also its resolution 35\/157 of 12 December 1980 on military nuclear collaboration with Israel,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling its repeated condemnation of nuclear collaboration between Israel and South Africa,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling Security Council resolution 487 (1981) of 19 June 1981 and taking note of the first special report of the Special Committee against Apartheid on recent developments concerning relations between Israel and South Africa,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Noting with concern Israel's refusal 51ÁÔÆæ Security Council resolution 487 (1981),<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Further noting with grave concern Israel's persistent refusal to adhere to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, despite repeated calls by the General Assembly, the Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and to place its nuclear facilities under Agency safeguards,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Conscious of the grave consequences which endanger international peace and security as a result of Israel's development and acquisition of nuclear weapons and Israel's collaboration with South Africa to develop nuclear weapons and their delivery systems,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

 \t<\/span>Taking note of the report of the Secretary-General on Israeli nuclear armament,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Condemns Israel's refusal to renounce any possession of nuclear weapons and to place all its nuclear activities under international safeguards;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Requests the Security Council to take urgent and effective measures to implement its resolution 487 (1981) and to ensure that Israel complies with the resolution and places its nuclear facilities under International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Requests the International Atomic Energy Agency to suspend any scientific co-operation with Israel which could contribute to Israel's nuclear capabilities;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>4.\t<\/span>Reiterates its condemnation of the Israeli threat, in violation of the Charter of the United Nations, to repeat its armed attack on peaceful nuclear facilities in Iraq and in other countries;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>5.\t<\/span>Requests the Secretary-General to continue to follow closely Israel's nuclear activities and the nuclear and military collaboration between Israel and South Africa and to report to the General Assembly at its thirty-ninth session thereon, as appropriate;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>6.\t<\/span>Decides to include in the provisional agenda of its thirty-ninth session the item entitled "Israeli nuclear armament".<\/p><\/div>\n
