Resolution 481 (1980)<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Security Council,<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Having considered<\/i> the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Decides:<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(a)\t<\/span>To call upon the parties concerned to implement immediately Security Council resolution 338 (1973);<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(b)\t<\/span>To renew the mandate of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force for another period of six months, that is, until 31 May 1981;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(c)\t<\/span>To request the Secretary-General to submit at the end of this period a report on the developments in the situation and the measures taken to implement resolution 338 (1973).<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Adopted at the 2256th meeting by 14 votes to none.<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At the same meeting, following the adoption of resolution 481 (1980), the President made the following statement on behalf of the members of the Council:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>"In connexion with the adoption of the resolution on  the renewal of the mandate of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force, I have been authorized to make the following complementary statement on behalf of the  Security Council regarding the resolution just adopted:\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>"As is known, the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force states, in  paragraph 27, that, "Despite the present quiet in the  Israel-Syria sector, the situation in the Middle East as a  whole continues to be potentially dangerous and is likely  to remain so unless and until a comprehensive settlement  covering all aspects of the Middle East problem can be  reached".  This statement of the Secretary-General reflects  the view of the Security Council."\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
