{"id":18507,"date":"2016-06-30T17:36:21","date_gmt":"2016-06-30T17:36:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/?p=18507"},"modified":"2018-04-22T11:58:54","modified_gmt":"2018-04-22T15:58:54","slug":"conflict-prevention-efforts-more-effective-and-sustainable-when-women-participate-security-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/blog\/2016\/06\/conflict-prevention-efforts-more-effective-and-sustainable-when-women-participate-security-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Conflict prevention efforts more effective and sustainable when women participate \u2013 Security Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despite commitments of the international community, inconsistent levels of political will, resourcing, accountability and gender expertise often hinder the full and meaningful inclusion of women in efforts to prevent conflict, the Security Council said today.<\/p>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div id=\"story-content\" class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"span8\">\n<div id=\"fullstory\">\n<p>Adopting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/press\/en\/2016\/sc12403.doc.htm\">Presidential Statement<\/a> during a formal meeting this morning, the 15-nation body welcomed the adoption of regional frameworks to implement resolution 1325 (2000) on \u2018women, peace and security,\u2019 including the African Union\u2019s Gender, Peace and Security Programme 2015-2020.
