H.E. Khalilur Rahman, the President of the eighty-first session of the General Assembly, met today with Mr. Alexander De Croo, the Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The President and the Administrator exchanged views on strengthening confidence in the United Nations and advancing a Member State-led reform agenda. The Administrator expressed strong support for the President’s vision of restoring trust in the Organization through tangible results and measurable impact at the country level. Both underscored the importance of ensuring that ongoing reform discussions remain focused on enhancing the UN’s effectiveness in delivering for people, rather than solely on institutional restructuring.

On the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both parties reaffirmed the continued relevance of the 2030 Agenda and the need to strengthen key enablers – including financing, technology and innovation – to accelerate progress.
