The President of the eighty-first session of the General Assembly, H.E. Khalilur Rahman, met with Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of the Belgians.
The discussion focused on advancing Sustainable Development Goal advocacy under Agenda 2030. Her Majesty highlighted field-level efforts to amplify the voices of refugees and victims of sexual violence in conflict areas.
They also exchanged views on compounding global challenges, including expanding conflicts, economic strains, resource scarcity and climate change. They underscored the imperative that artificial intelligence remains in the service of humanity and emphasized the importance of driving the meaningful empowerment of young people, including their direct inclusion in global decision-making.
