The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Khalilur Rahman, met with H.E. Mr. K?stutis Budrys, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The Minister congratulated the President on assuming office and reaffirmed his country’s full support for the President’s mission. He underscored the need to strengthen trust among Member States, uphold multilateralism and advance United Nations reform.
They exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the importance of respecting international law, and of dialogue and diplomacy in support of peace. They also discussed global energy challenges and the need to ensure that assistance reaches those most in need.
The President thanked the Minister for his support and emphasized the importance of accountability, ensuring that resources are directed toward the right priorities. He noted that the gathering of world leaders at the United Nations provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and advance shared solutions to global challenges.
