The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Khalilur Rahman, met with H.E. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq.
The President and the Minister discussed continued cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations following the conclusion of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), including through United Nations agencies. They also discussed regional developments and their impact on Iraq and the wider region, including the importance of preventing further escalation, supporting dialogue and diplomacy and safeguarding maritime routes, trade and food security.
