The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Khalilur Rahman, met with H.E. Ms. Aglaia Balta, Permanent Representative of Greece to the United Nations, in her capacity as the incoming President of the United Nations Security Council for the month of October.
The President of the General Assembly and the incoming President of the Security Council discussed the programme of work for Greece’s Presidency, which will begin on 1 October 2026. They also discussed the importance of strengthening the cooperation between the Security Council and the General Assembly in accordance with the UN Charter, including in the context of the selection and appointment process of the next UN Secretary-General.
