The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Khalilur Rahman, met with Mr. QU Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
The Director-General congratulated the President on assuming office and they reaffirmed the importance of close cooperation between the General Assembly and FAO.
They also exchanged views on the impact of conflicts on global food security, including the challenges of food affordability and access. The President emphasized the urgency of addressing food insecurity and welcomed FAO’s continued leadership in this critical area.
