Mr. Abdulla Shahid, called on H.E. Mr. Luis Abinader Corona, President of the Dominican Republic earlier today.<\/p>\n<p>President Shahid underlined his priorities during the 76<sup>th<\/sup>session\u00a0and highlighted the role of SIDS at the United Nations, in particular when it comes to recovery from COVID-19 and sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>President Abinader reiterated the support of the Dominican Republic to the Office of the President of the General Assembly, including for specific priorities for the 76<sup>th<\/sup>session.<\/p>\n<p>Both sides also discussed issues of common interest, including climate change, sustainability, particularly sustainable tourism, and the situation of SIDS countries during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting took place in the Office of President Abinader in the National Palace.<\/p>\n<p>17 June 2022<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th\u00a0session of the General Assembly, H.E.
