The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr.?Iv¨¢n Duque M¨¢rquez, President of?Colombia, on the sidelines of the 2022 United Nations Ocean Conference in Lisbon.
The President of the General Assembly?complimented?President Duque?M¨¢rquez?for his leadership?on environmental issues and especially for being a strong advocate for the?restoration of the health of the ocean.
President Duque M¨¢rquez?briefed the President of the General Assembly on some of Colombia¡¯s environmental priorities. He?reiterated Colombia¡¯s commitment to the ocean agenda?and?underscored the country¡¯s?initiatives in?restoring coral reefs and protection of mangroves.
The meeting took place in the?office?of?the?President?of the General Assembly?at the Ocean Conference main venue in Lisbon.
