As every year, the theme for <\/span>Mandela <\/span>Day <\/span>is \u201cTake action, inspire change!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, <\/span>volunteers will <\/span>go to the <\/span>Brownsville Community Culinary Center, Brooklyn<\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Center is committed to offering healthy, accessible cuisine to residents of one of the most marginalized neighborhoods in New York through their eatery.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

UN <\/span>volunteers will finish the preparation of lunch and ice cream to be served to community members <\/span>and <\/span>connect in celebration of <\/span>Nelson <\/span>Mandela\u2019s ideals of service.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>activity <\/span>i<\/span>s organized by <\/span>the NYC<\/span> Mayor\u2019s Office for <\/span>International <\/span>Affairs, the UN Department of Global Communications, <\/span>the <\/span>Office of the President of the UN General Assembly and the Permanent Mission of South Africa to the UN, in collaboration with <\/span>the <\/span>Melting Pot Foundation<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
