Senior Adviser and Team Coordinator<\/span> | Peace and Security, Humanitarian and Legal Issues<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Amena Yassine is a Senior Adviser and the Team Coordinator for Peace and Security, Humanitarian and Legal Issues in the Office of the President of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly. She focuses on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace and related mandated events.<\/p>\n

A Brazilian diplomat, she joined the foreign service of Brazil in 2008, where she held different positions, such as press adviser, political adviser for multilateral policy to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and political adviser to the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

Before joining the Office of the President, Amena served at the Permanent Mission of Brasil to the United Nations for three and a half years. Her portfolio at the Brazilian Mission included peacebuilding, Security Council and media relations.<\/p>\n

She was also the adviser for the Brazilian chairmanship of both the Guinea-Bissau Configuration and the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), and \u00a0served as the Brazilian negotiator for the Peacebuilding Architecture Review in 2016. Additionsly, during her first year at the Brazilian Mission, she amassed experience in human rights.<\/p>\n

Amena holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a diploma in International Law from The Hague Academy of International Law. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.<\/p>\n

Ambreen Fatima Anwar Husain is an intern with the Office of the President of the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, New York, focusing on political issues. She is a graduate of Dr. RML National Law University, India, with a combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours). Prior to her internship with the Office of the President of the General Assembly, Ambreen worked at an Intellectual Property law firm in India, with a particular focus on trade marks. While pursuing her Bachelor\u2019s course, she interned with the Women\u2019s Rights Cell of Lawyer\u2019s Collective, where she analyzed the trends in judicial announcements relating to the law of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence. While pursuing \u00a0additional internships in areas varying from intellectual property rights and corporate law to human rights law, she developed her skills in research and writing.
