The third and final week of the Africa Dialogue Series focuses on a young and emerging culture that has become a global phenomenon – amapiano music. Amapiano is a dynamic subgenre of house music that emerged from South African in the early 2010s. It blends deep house, jazz, and kwaito with syncopated rhythms, log-drum basslines, and soulful piano melodies.
